Camp Good News® History
Camp Good News®,
under the direction of Child
Evangelism Fellowship
of Maine, Inc.® , began in 1970 by renting the Baptist
Youth Camp
in
Charlotte. Since that time we have also rented facilities in Naples,
Mapleton
and Brooks.
From the very beginning we
had been praying for our own
permanent campsite
and God chose this one for us!! " Now unto him that is able to
do
exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the
power that worketh in us, Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ
Jesus
throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. " Eph. 3: 20,21
In December 1991, the
Board of Circle L Camp in East Livermore
graciously
gave to CEF of Maine® their campgrounds. We are so
grateful to God
for this answer to prayer. Though CEF of Maine Inc.® is
the legal
owner
of the property, the real owner is all of us. Ownership is in our
hearts
and belongs to all of us who believe that camp is a place where God has
a great opportunity to work in lives.
